For Truckers That Like a Personal Touch, Ford Ranger is a Custom Job

Since it returned to our southeast neck of the Pennsylvania woods for 2019 after a long hiatus, everyone has wanted to customize the all-new Ford Ranger. The proof goes by the numbers, too.

According to Chad Callander, Ford consumer marketing manager for the mid-size pickup, two out of three buyers spring for Sport, Chrome, or STX appearance packages, while one in three goes with the FX4 Off-Road Package. The latter features capability improvements like an electronic locking rear differential, which optimizes the truck's class-leading 310 pound-feet of torque on Eagleville trips, and a Terrain Management System with Trail Control, designed for navigating diverse Norristown-area landscapes in mind.

Over half, however, opt for the available Trailer Tow Package, which features a four-pin/seven-pin wiring harness and Class IV trailer hitch receiver to make quick work of Phoenixville hauls. There's a wide variety of other packages and options, too, including a new Black Appearance Package for sinister aesthetics.

In short, Ford Ranger drivers love their personalization opportunities. So, Ford continued to listen to their feedback, and now, a brand-new FX2 styling and capability upgrade package, compatible with two-wheel drivetrains, is available.

It'll incorporate, for one, that sought-after electronic-locking rear differential, and atop an off-road-tuned suspension and rugged 17- or optional 18-inch off-road tires, no less. Plus, Ford has added extra cladding in a front underbody guard and eliminated the factory air dam to improve approach angles -- meaning, make Ford Ranger a lot more maneuverable. Performance aficionados from King of Prussia will even be able to enjoy an off-road cluster screen, set to display variables like pitch, roll, and yaw in real-time.

Best of all: you can order an FX2 package from our Ford dealership right now, and it'll come soon, now that we're in its late-2019 projected-availability period. Just give the Keyser & Miller Ford showroom a call, send us an e-mail, or drop by 8 East Main Street in Collegeville PA to schedule a test drive in a new Ford Ranger and get your order on the books. We'll be looking forward to hearing from you!
