Behind the Refinement of the 2018 Ford Mustang

This year’s Detroit Auto Show was the unveiling venue for the mid-cycle refresh of the 2018 Ford Mustang. After four years on the market, it was due, and while the changes may be small, the sum of their parts point to a car that’ll be even better to look at, drive, and live with. It all starts with getting rid of the V6 engine option, and only gets better from there!

Ford has padded the Mustang’s equipment roster with an upgraded six-speed manual that comes standard, and an optional ten-speed automatic transmission. New shocks and Magneride dampers are standard fair across the range for even better handling, and a lower nose makes the car look more aggressive while enhancing aerodynamics. There’s also a theme of customization present—you can tailor the gauge cluster to your tastes, and the options sheet is full of components to further make this car your own.
